At a pre-season football party in a small Ohio town, a horrible incident took place. What transpired afterwards would garner national attention and result in the sentencing of two football players. But questions lingered about the conduct of the other teens, the choices made by the adults, and the culture that allowed this sexual assault to happen. ROLL RED ROLL investigates the complex motivations of perpetrators, bystanders and whistle blowers, and acts as a cautionary tale when a community denies that rape culture exists.
With unprecedented access to police documents, exhibits and evidence, the film unflinchingly asks: “why didn’t anyone stop it?”
